Does anyone know if using the LEV in the school workshop's welding booth might be sufficient provision against zinc oxide fumes being produced when resistance spot welding galvanised sheet steel? We certainly don't have respirators!
School Risk assessment doesn't mention it as it just seems to cover welding generally.
A local company is very kindly providing cut pieces of sheet steel for my Practical Metalworking class to make tool trays/boxes but all they use is galvanised as they're an HVAC ducting manufacturer!
If absolutely a no-go we'll have to rivet!
