I've used the search function for "Steel stockholders nottinghamshire" to no avail.

Just back into the game of melting stuff together for a hobby and looking for mild steel suppliers around mansfield, notts.

Went over to one in an industrial unit Mansfield who shall not be named. It took all my people skills to get the chap to come to the counter, nevermind give me a price for a length of angle. He told me, "probably best getting it 'offline' pal".

Does anyone have any experience of parkside steel at Annesley (jct 27 M1)?
Do they do cash and carry to the public?

Depending on what quantitys and quality you need, You might want to widen your search to include metal recyclers. If you find a good "Old fashioned" one they tend to put any usable sized pieces of angle, box and sheet aside (And anything else they think is probably worth enough over scrap value) to sell on to anyone who asks nicely.
There may be surface rust, it may be in odd lengths, but it's also usually cheap enough to be well worth doing the extra prep work to clean off a few patches of corrosion.
I managed to get a load of slightly rusty 7 foot long 50x50x5mm sticks of angle iron a few months back, I think I paid something like 5 quid each ? The one I've used so far only took me an extra 10 minutes with a wire wheel before it was good enough for what I wanted. I'll happily swap 10 minutes for about 15/20 quid less spent on metal.

Thanks, I do know a scrap collector/recycler as it goes. can't see the wood for the trees sometimes!
