There is an M5 grub on the smaller outside ring of the boss which I removed. It's not levering off from behind at all and I don't want to force it more than I have.I wonder if the boss on the spindle can be removed and a more common unrecessed wire brush fitted ?
Check to see if there may be another grub screw below. The one you removed may have been used to lock it in place. There is an M5 grub on the smaller outside ring of the boss which I removed. It's not levering off from behind at all and I don't want to force it more than I have.

I'm walking away in case I break something and try heat & plusgas tomorrow, but likely I may need to fashion some sort of puller off the centre and inner boss blind blind holes as its stuck fast. ................................

Good shout and I had checked. The one I removed goes all the way to the spindle, there's damage there if you see the pic, a pen torch shows light up the grub hole, even tho I measured the depth to the spindle so I knew it bottomed out. Its in the vice overnight spindle upwards with plusgas, will have another look tomorrow.Check to see if there may be another grub screw below. Been a while but got this done today, clearly this boss was meant to be by TULL with this specific cupped wheel affair, I could find nothing else that would fit with enough clearance to do up the clamping nut on the end.I wonder if the boss on the spindle can be removed and a more common unrecessed wire brush fitted ?
