...that uses CNMG 1204 inserts, on the obtuse corners, neutral handed, for chamfering and roughing.
I didn't realise they existed until I saw Abom79 has one and it makes so much sense. I have a TNMG neutral roughing tool but it doesn't give me the chamfer angle I want. This tool would give me 40 degree chamfers, and use inserts that are already worn on the pointy ends.
The ISO code for the tool would technically start MCHNN: M clamping, C insert, H 50 degree approach, N 0 clearance, N neutral handed
So... plugging this into google gives me few options:
Bangood For my purposes it would probably be fine, but I like to buy quality where I can, and from a UK supplier where I can't!
MSC direct USA sell the Kennametal MCHN tool, but again, I want a UK supplier.
Sandvik, Iscar and Mitsubishi catalogues don't have any MCHN tools at all.
I'm struggling with this - I see a few offering a 50 degree "approach" angle, but it's using the 40 degree edge instead at 90 degrees... not the Kennametal "H" designation of approach. This is plain confusing!
I'm also sure a week or two back when I looked around, there seemed to be similar tools with an X designation - I don't think they were proper ISO code tools, but they has what I needed. I can't find em now.
For reference, this is the exact tool I want https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/05195326
Anyone help with this? I don't want to spend too much, but I'll pay for a UK supplier.
