Bose QC35ii headphone screw

Hi Guys, I have some of the above mentioned headphones. Had them for just over 2y now so out of warranty . I love them before anyone slags them off. I worked out I have done easily 2500hours of use with them and they’re still good, apart from the screw falling out the other day which is super annoying.
I took the screw out from the other side to measure it and I’d kind of like some clarity and maybe info on where to source the size I think it looks like.
Right so the longer screw is another I had M2 x 16mm, the tiny one is what I need.

Measuring the diameter here is imperial the metric size is 1.53mm

The length of the screw is this. That in metric is 4.02mm

From the 4mm length I was able to count the threads which look to be around 12.
I devided 25.4 by 4 to give me 6.35 then multiplied that by 12 which gives 76.2. Cross referencing the to my zeus book it looks to be No 0 ANF which is 80tpi as you can see, the imperial OD is the same as well.
If I am correct where do I get something similar?

M1.6 screws exist and have a pitch of 0.35mm. Sounds about right

I did wonder about M1.6 but being an American company I assumed they’d be imperial or some description.

if you need a large cap head you could start off with a M2 cap head screw and thread it M1.6, or if it doesnt need to be a cap had screw you can use a M1.6 slotted screw that will have a wider head.

......I'd do either of those options, if you're stuck, I've got suitable Metric stainless screws that can be modified to suit

Zoro or boltbase ebay are good for small metric screws, tho zoro are slow. I'd say thats m1.6 or possibly m1.8. If it were M2 Ive got a massive bag of them. Arc wuro sell a mini tap die kit aswell, quality not the best Ive been using it a bit recently.

@KimB I acquired a huge amount of very small screws of all flavours from somebody that did electronics, not sure if @sako243 took them or whether they are still festering in one the containers, if they are I will dig some out for you.

Thanks for that guys but I actually ordered some M1.6’s to try once you all said that. I’ll report back and see if they fit. The bolt head is slightly too small 1mm to be precise but if it fits I’ll probably buy a die and cut the thread onto a bigger headed bolt as some of you said.

Annoyingly they won’t sell you one bolt, you have to send them back and then pay £200 for a new set

Hardly. As I said, I have used and abused them for ever two years. Probably getting a lot more use than they normally would with anyone else. They still work fine just one tiny bolt come out.

During the search for my HD25's I contemplated purchasing a headphone amp for my HD 650's, they need a fair amount of power to run.
I snapped the wire on those when they were 7 or 8 years old, Senheiser head office sent me a full replacement cable and a set of ear pads for them, the pads are still sealed if I ever need them

I've had dealings with senheiser absolutely faultless to deal with

My wife and I both have these Bose headphones, use mine a lot as well and they’re fantastic. No help with the screw but most likely metric I would think.

Maybe the case but as I’ve said in just over 2y I have used them wirelessly for at the very least 2500h and they still worked fine and will continue to work fine once I get a new bolt for it.
