Removing brazing flux?

Does anyone have a method for removing brazing flux? If the part is small I submerge it in water while still hot (as Google says to do) and that works, but what if I'm brazing on my car? The stuff is very hard and a wire brush doesn't want to remove it.

I usually chip it of or hit it with an old file. Citric acid or lye soak for 10 minutes should disolve it but thats not much good on a car panel. A soaked cloth might be adequate to keep it wet.

Which flux? I find borax, sifbronze and easyflo all about the same effort to get off.

At school we used to through table salt on to the joint when hot.

But on a car I would use a angry grinder with a wire brush.

Depending on where on the car you are brazing it may not be up to MOT standards

Thanks, yep suspected that's the case, all the structural parts of the car have been welded. I brazed a tiny split in one of the accessories as the welder would have gone through.

I've not heard that before i'll have to give it a go on bit's I can't blast or grind
