Any Lock picking enthusiasts on the forum ?

Help if possible , I have for years used a squire SS50C padlock, but some wheres along the line I have lost the keys ,possibly when I moved from last unit, either way I have a lock,closed, but no keys , loath to bin as although useless in its current state it goes against the grain to waste it , so anybody a lock picking expert ? I am hoping that if picked a key could then be made to suit , but what do I know .b
all Banter welcome , and yes my grand parents were from yorkshire.. thoughts ladies and gents please, apparantly sqire do not offer replacement key service

I play at picking locks, not sure if a key can be reproduced. If the core can be taken out a new core can be put in the lock. I watch the lock picking lawyer and Bosnian bill on YouTube. You may find your answer there.

I have a set of picks (2 sets actually) as I’ve always been keen to learn the skill. Managed to pick a 3-lever lock, but it does get trickier the more levers there are. Nothing to lose so happy to give it a go, but no promises.

@Seadog ,Thankyou very much , thats my exact type of lock , now the thing is if one of you guys could pick it is it then possible for you to get a new key kut to suit ?so I would have a working lock again , must admit really suprised by the fast responce and offers as did nt realise it was a "interest" but after seeing the video really can see why it would be , my eyesight and shaky hands wouldnt be any good though these days

It is possible to impression a key if you can get some blanks, this is done form the locked state so doesn't need to be picked before hand. The process is an iterative one requiring a fine file & the ability to polish the top edge of the key to see marks from the pins (I'm not sure if it might be possible to use engineers blue or sharpie ink instead). Instructions on this process are online, & as mentioned above, Bosnian Bill & Lock Picking Lawyer on youtube are the experts.
However as a bit of a picking enthusiast, you're best bet is probably to stick it on ebay & use the term 'locksport' in the title. Picking enthusiasts use this term to describe the non-criminal interest in picking.

@sloderby sorry for the delay had to google the unknown word(repetative process to get to desired result) yes sell on ebay as is but geussing you would get a fiver, replacement is about £80 apparantly ,

If it can be picked & the core removed then a key could be easily made if a blank was available.
However, by the time you've posted it to someone & bought a blank, & had it posted back, you might be better just selling it as a locksport padlock.

A little less after a quick search, but a quality lock nonetheless. The reason they're that price ... they have keys

some of the cheaper ones are steel/brass , just looked myself , but yes available new with keys

I have recently had the need to get into my old mother in law Master key box, (It wouldn't open with the correct combination) I consulted the university of youtube and "picked" it open in no time, Very very simple, There is a good old school locksmith near me, Years ago I came across a seven lever Chubb battleship pad lock, All welded construction.Took it along to Robin the locksmith, Rang me the next day and had made three new keys, I still have the lock to this day

I phoned the local lock smiths , where I bought it from, not interested but will happily sell me another..

Now there's a nice lock, levers rather than a pin cylinder construction of the Squire, but built like a battleship, should last multiple lifetimes.
