Any thoughts on this and the price for general use and some old VHS video editing.

Dont buy from scan, they messed me about for 3 months after a badly packaged hard drive, I rejected without trying, then replacement was doa. They became incontactable. When they did eventually refund it was 3 seperate bits dragged out over another month. I am still out 10 quid as they snuck a premium rate number into their email with no warning of charges in email or on the call.
Being messed about by a shop
Ordered some computer bits including a hard disk. They arrived after a few days. The hard disk had no packaging protection, I asked and got a replacement, it took a while, many many phone calls, their customer service is a joke. The replacement was packaged worse, and did not work. I sent it...www.mig-welding.co.uk
Remember ALDI has a 3 year guarantee if you keep the receipt
Totally. I'm desperate (well... maybe not desperate...) to buy a 3060 ti but can't find any. Currys (yes, I know...) is depressing because when you look at cards on their site you get a popup that says "24,723 people have viewed this in the last 24 hours" so you know that even if they got stock it would be gone in nanoseconds. You can not buy decent graphics cards right now, other than in prebuilds, because the demand is so high. They are being bought up for bitcoin mining which has become profitable even with uk energy prices. An average pc will earn a few quid a day which may pay for itself if you bought a better one to start with.
I feel for you, but there's always contra-experiences. I've bought three PCs from them, plus a variety of components and some specialist video kit (Blackmagic Design hardware and software) and have always found them well priced, transparent and professional. That said, I've never had to use their support service as everything I've bought has been through the 24 hour burn-in and has just worked.
Good point, and a plus for Aldi.
They were selling an i5 machine plus GPU for £700 last year, seems like the same machine minus the GPU.thats maybe last years product

Don't know if you intended this, but you say it like it's a bad thing and it's not. Component manufacturers (CPUs, graphics cards, motherboards etc.) constantly release newer models so the earlier versions decrease in (perceived) value / cost. It's not that you're buying old/obsolete kit, just that the components it is made from are lower priced than they were, and lower priced than today's higher-end units.just remember when buying a pc
many shops sell last years model unless its a computer shop which still does
...
check what your buying check its mainboard as is the most important part is upgrading the machine in a years time when things are cheaper
