Did mine and this morning there was a frost,all I got from her in doors was"I told you it was to early".

Yep, did it last week with cutters at max height. And if you're really keen, it's a good time to go moss-killing with some ferrous sulphate, but try pick a day when you might get 24 hours without any rain.

Well I`ve spiked it which was hard work and next I will scarify,maybe in a week or two?

Too early for up here [well, imo], we've had a few nights of quite hard frost this past week.

These last few years I've found the whole scarifying/cleaning up/bagging etc thing a bit much [both physically & time-wise ] and thought I'd give it a try. If it works as claimed it'll be a Godsend.

Lazy boy!

The second cut on Saturday. It will need cutting weekly until it starts growing strongly, then 3 times a fortnight. Twice weekly if I'm daft enough to give it a spring feed!

The grass was dry enough but it is still a little soggy underfoot.

I used Miracle Grow. Makes it grow like mad. Nice and green though!

its too early as yet

though when i do cut it i leave the collection box off

i also go over a few times so its really shredded up the reason for this is to refeed the grass on the early rain

Is it time to run the spring tine harrow over it and then the roller?

I do just the reverse: I talk nicely to the moss and hope it will grow quickly and take over the rest of the lawn around the house.

I rather enjoy mowing acres of tall grass in our fields with a rotary cutter behind the tractor...there's a kind of "Zen" to that, I think...but for some odd reason I'm not fond of mowing the lawn around the house. In the past four or five years, about a third of the lawn has been taken over by moss, and I actually like the look of it. I'd take a photo or two, but it's still covered with snow. We're probably still at least a month (or more) away from the first lawn mowing of the year.
