inverter wiring

Anyone out there know how to wire this inverter up, have conected the 240 and the 3ph side but only geting 1.5 v between phases, the seller said that I might need to set the control up?? and that was it.

An inverter will normally need commissioning, along the lines of entering motor data, control method, speed setpoint etc.

Can't help much more than that, what you have there looks ancient! Have you had any luck finding a manual on google etc?

No nothing whatsoever Luke, as I understand it used to run a conveyor.
There is a couple of tappings that are looped thats about it really

I'm not surprised it's not working with out it.

Without any documentation it's a bit of a guess to say, but in your shoes, I'd try a 10k pot.

I'm surprised run/stop is jumpered as it is, I'd have a switch in those terminals.

Regarding the run/stop jumper, wouldn't a switch on the in coming 240 feed to the inverter be the same as switching it there ?. then the speed ref, if I jumped that one from common to low for instance for testing would it harm it. Also what does a 10K pot look like, Cheers for your help.

I'd expect not. I'm out on a whim here as your inverter is certainly not similar to anything i'm familiar with, but i'd expect the motor to ramp up to, and down from, the running speed, when switched with the run switch. just cutting the power will cause it to coast rather than ramp down.

you can see the three terminals required, I would expect it to use a 0-10v reference, for which you will require all three terminals and a pot. a bit of investigation with a multimeter may help. you could try jumping the terminals but personally I'd test using a pot.

Induction motors don't like being run at very low speeds, so I wouldn't be surprised if there is a lower threshold to the speed range. Normally you'd expect the upper threshold to be 50Hz/230v.
