Is it that good ??? Dewalt wrench

I have the 899 one and it is unbelievable for power, the marine engineer saw me use it and was so impressed he bought his own. He was taking off a shaft coupling and made a puller up with 20mm plate and it actually bent the 20mm plate before the coupling suddenly sprung off the shaft.
There are 3 speed settings and I think different torque ratings on each speed, will see if I can find the info.

Its time for me to get an impact wrench as it to much a strain on my arms to do without.

So as i have a lot of gthe 18V Dewalt kit i am going to get one of these fro wheel nuts and engine bolts and trailer rebuild etc etc all for the m10 bolts and bigger.

I say i am getting lne bugt now i have decided to go ge with a £50 voucher to save afew bit Screwfix has sold out that i have my voucher for. So then i thought sod it ill get one from Tool Station where i usually go but they are aswell as FFX

The 899 has 3 settings, so can be used at lower torque settings.

It’s not just used on car wheel nuts, what about using it on truck/tractor wheel nuts, suspension components, big fasteners used in construction etc etc ??

I think the emphasis with a nut gun is on its ability to undo seized or tight nuts, they should only be used as a nut runner on things like wheel nuts and then tightened with a torque wrench.

They can be used for other things than wheel studs though.

Impact wrench should only be used to nip nuts and bolts up then use a torque wrench to tighten , unlike some who whack the wheel nuts up tight then use a torque wrench

dont know if this is even true but bloke across the road said somthing about the thread on wheel nuts are differant to normal m8 m10 etc thats when they test them nm touque it needs to undo it

I will admit to snapping more nuts on vehicles than i can count and always the worst was wheels and under the the car that always snapped

i hate snapon think its just the name your paying for

but i have the set of it after using them mine need new batterys now as the 3 month away time killed them

ive found them really handy but ive seen them fail as well

You did, but then you used wheel nuts as an example of “why do you need more torque than that”. So as you have already said yourself, there’s plenty of other stuff that might need more

Added to that as others have said the undoing torque is probably more useful, but if you make a high torque gun then why not have it both directions.
