BMW 520D F11 Rear Suspension

[Parm]

The Air bags on the rear suspension need to be changed.

Ive had a look around on the internet and the prices vary wildly from £100 a pair to well over £600 a pair.

OEM are made my Dunlop

Where do i need to be with these, any recommendations ?

His local garage will want to bolt in a roll cage and tape up the headlamps .

No. A decent one will fix the indicators.
In @Parm Case remove the mc d bags.

Stay away from the Ebay no brand cheapies, I had someone bring a set to me to fit and they only lasted a few weeks. Replaced with a set from the local motor factors, sorry can't remember what brand but they're still good a few years later.

Rubbish suspension parts are everywhere, online. Everyone's addicted to searching out 'cheapest first'.

A BWW forum is surely where one finds the best options, other than OEM parts.
E.g. for Mercs, Febi used to be good. Lemforder were an OEM equivalent, as were Meyle HD.

Fortunately I have not had to do anything with the rear of my E61 but do remember air bags been discussed here BMW 5 Forums which is UK based and reasonably grown up for a BMW forum. Take a look in the F10/ F11 section there should be some guidance, if not check out the E60 / E61 section where I know there are recent threads on air bags.

I am trying to remember what brands we used, retired a while ago, we had no problems with the aftermarket ones we used, often only needed one side, only need to do both if there are obvious abrasion issues to the rubber bag, the worst for failing was I seem to remember the 5 series coupe,
