I was reading the forum's Arc tutorial and by looking at this photo I wanted to ask a couple of questions
In the tutorial, they use a 2.5mm electrode for the root pass.
It is very helpful that they mention that the dimensions of the root face and gap must be the same as the diameter of the rod.
1. Can we set a 3.2mm face root and gap if we have 3.2 electrodes or it would be too much? Does 2.5mm derive from the 6mm plate? Is there a rule about this?
2. The tutorial does not mention the minimum metal thickness that we must start using this type of preparation (with beveling). That is?
If you have any good links about the dimensions of joint preparation I would love to read about it. Always about MMA.
Thanks in advance.
