My wife is making me a "pickup pad" for my birthday. Its the thing you put over the tailgate of a pickup to stop damage. A bit similar to this.
She's a dab hand at sewing but the multiple layers of tougher fabric will mean she won't be able to use her standard sewing machine, so I thought I would get her something robust, with valentine's day approaching fast then this would solve two problems.
She currently has several machines, her main two are Brother, and she has some older Singer machines but these are standard duty. I did look at the Singer 4432, or the Brother HF27 but given I know absolutely nothing about sewing machines I thought I would ask on here, especially @mrsbruce
I guess it would be used for upholstery, multiple layers of fabric like denim, maybe the odd bit of canvas etc.
