Well if your not comfortable around spinning tools lol.
But seriously the center drills are fantastic and more than up to that job of piloting for a speaker safely.
Ill not tell you how much nice cones cost ,, just one of those things , I made up a template out of one mm styrene and used it for all marking out ,, that way cones were never round drills , dust , screws and all that sort of things ,, as a side not the first old H&H concert system I bought many moons ago had the bins filled with sausage rolls the system had sat out side the kitchen in an old hotel , and the spare sausage rolls from the buffet must have been thrown into the folded bins for months ,,, after a quick and smelly dig out , off they went and they worked fine for a long time after .
after this story which I frankly don’t believe you have the audacity to talk about quality, styrene templates (incidentally which is a liquid chemical) so utterly useless. Make your mi d up which level of ******** want to operate on
I blocked you for a reason. It’s now gonna happen again because your crap is ruining my enjoyment of the forum
BTW ice cream cones are nice n cheap, not affected by any power tools
Your braver than me ,, I use a felt tip .
Morning guys.
I'm going to be positive here, and genuinely learn something about what has been discussed.
@tom2207
I had not come across or heard of the high impact polystyrene until it was mentioned in this thread. What are the other uses of this material besides the templates? Also, why is described by the manufacturer as 'high impact? '

You mention stiff card just as as an example, and I thought of nylolite material that I have used for some projects. I'm thinking of the thin gauge, maybe no more than 2mm.I can only get the thick stuff now about 9mm. I was getting it from a local guy who sells sheet off-cutts.
I looked online and found one supplier of what looks like the same material with a different name. I have not checked what thicknesses they do.

A bit of useless information.
Amari Plastics is owned by a mate of dads. He’s a proper good bloke, lives in a small mansion and has a garage full of exotic cars
