I was going to suggest a Hitachi/Hikoki G23MR but your budget would need increased by 2/3rds. They have an all Alu body as opposed to the normal plastic, also made in Ireland as opposed to China.
They are the best 9" grinders you can get in my opinion, they last me for 10 years or more where others of the big names last a year or two at most. The normal Hitachi ones are ok as well but they are just on a par with the other named ones.
Thanks for the replies. If it was something I'd use often then I guess I could justify spending more, but I reckon it would get used a few times a year albeit for a couple of days at a time.
I have a hitachi and don’t like it and it has no box. My partner just bought a Dewalt which has a case and I think it was £100. I used it for about half hour solid the other day and it did good

Picked this one up a few months back when I needed something quick, local and in stock.
Comes with case and diamond blade and I honestly cant fault it. Given it a fair bit of abuse. Lots dont come with a blade and thats another £30 so this was a no brainer.
Generally have found the bigger equipment gets the cheaper you can afford to get especially if your not using it to often. A cheapo own brand from the like of toolstation, b&q etc will probably do the job no bother, and they usually come with decent enough warranty these days that if it karks it you just take it back and get another one for free. Know a few guys that have that mac brand from b and q that have been going some decent amount of time.
