Suppliers of Bandsaw blades for Clarke etc

I need to purchase some decent Bandsaw Blades for a Clarke CBS45MD machine Blades size is;

Imperial Dimensions: 64 1/2" x 1/2" x .025"

Metric Dimensions: 1638mm x 13mm x 0.6mm


Need to cut Ferrous and Non Ferrous Steels and Alloys, So Bimetal would be the best


Any suggestions for suppliers.

Try Barry Carter Motor products they are near Harrogate.......Barry is very helpful! Sorry don't have number but sure you can find it. Don't be fooled by the name!

There was a company the did decent quality blades, Cobra rings a bell, i`m sure someone else will remember the full name. I get all mine from a local supplier, but that wouldn`t be local to you, for gods sake don`t resort to MM`s extortionate prices though (not to mention the lack of quality)

The saw came with 5 MM blades, I broke 2 within the first 10 minutes . Striped it down and set it all back up and the last 3 to be honest were not to bad for cutting and longevity. But never the less not the best.

I can't complain as I saved it from the skip at work so it stands me at Zero, and I'm surprised what it will cut, and how much I now rely on it.

I have a cheapy saw, chinese, but same as the clarke, I get my blades from dragon saws from wales, last year I had five for £30 including postage although they did say the price was going up in near future. They were trading on ebay but also take orders by phone.

I'm pretty sure someone mentioned a while ago that dragon saws are, like so many others at the mo, no longer in business..

I ordered some blades from them today to go on the Clarke CBS45MD 4.5 x 6 bandsaw and an old Burgess BBS20 so I will let you know how I get on with them. It was a nice surprise to find they could supply 1/4" x 24tpi blades for the BBS20 as I was struggling elsewhere.

I noticed trucut on e bay before chunko recomended them , i didnt see any mention of M42 blades which is what i was after .... so ordered some from another e bay vendor mind you im still waiting for delivery a week later
