I well recall the little Rawlplug hand drill/punch that Dad spent ages using - hit and twist, hit and twist - to make holes in masonry to then insert the weird fibre Rawlplugs.
But I never knew such a tool existed.
I would be curious to know how many hours of a tradesman's labour it would have taken to buy one back in the day.
Maybe I should Google it?

only retired it 15 years ago used it for 35 years and it cost 12 quid then i was only on a fiver a week at the time . just found my rawltool in garage last week there quite handy and quick in soft blocks still
