The latest generation of 'Guppy' is based on an A330. Airbus have nicknamed it the Beluga XL. Take a look and you'll see why

When I was at Airbus earlier in the year they were building 5 of them and yes, they really did paint them like that![]()

Such a shame they can't be saved but both have sat for 20+ years without protection. Corrosion to the Guppy main spar was so severe that we couldn't really work underneath the wings so they came off with a push from a telehandler. Lots of pieces salvaged with many going to people turning them into arty-farty ornaments. 2 more 747s to come at Bruntingthorpe soon, along with maybe a few more large jets.

Not sure what the plans are for this one.

I rode a MAR1 in the '73 SSDT and broke the rear brake lever off on the 2nd day . Boy was I glad of the decompressor.
My first bike was a canary yellow ossa gripper 350. Weighed about the same as the forth bridge
I’d love a Mk1, my mates dad used to lend me his whenever my bantam wasn’t fit, which was pretty often. I loved that the front end was so light, though fixed with the Mk11.
Pembroke?
mate you on the MOSI crew in jan up in deepest darkest Manchester?
So the ones that make it to ebay are the lucky ones I guess? We can't give away the airliner passenger seats so most go to landfill. E-Cube at St Athan must have thousands laying around. They (and we) also sell fuselage tops for use as sheds etc. Biggest problem is moving them since a 737 is 12 foot 4 wide.
