I think, as radiotelescopes go, it wasn't actually very "good". It could only track objects about 6 degrees from the zenith for example. I think it was the only telescope that could transmit as well as receive, I'm not sure if the even larger FAST telescope in China can do that.
More modern observatories like the Very Large Array in New Mexico are probably considered more useful so would be more likely to get any money that should be up for grabs.
