Straight cut ie millenicut , may be better as they self clean where as curve teeth Dreadnought files will clog easier , or so I find. And I use chalk on them too.

Always known them as dreadnought files. They say they’re for aluminium but they’re not that great for that in my experience

Great for material removal on alloy and GRP if they are in good condition and sharp. Cordless too.

Yup, dreadnought, amazing for aluminium and not too shabby on soft steel too.

Rasps have pointy teeth rather than a series of serrations

Theyre the nuts for ally. A 12" or 14" one is great for flattening off edges of sheet that have been cut with a disc cutter.
Good for shaping the bead seat after wheel repairs too,

It's weird, I have a small one of these files in the bottom of my file box, no idea where it came from or when. Too small for body work, only about 6 in long.
