Exactly. In fact I wonder which tool brands your statement does *not* describe, in 2020?They seem to sell the brand to tool firms nowadays so if you have a manufacturing facility that can knock out cheap tools but need to brand name on them to sell them knock on B&D's door for a small cut you can have one of the world best know tool brands pasted on it no matter how cr@p the product.
Not the way I'd be holding that grinder for cutting . . . and where is it? Last B&D grinder I had lasted a few years . . .

It seems only a matter of time before we see so-called Britool and King Dick spanners in the Aldi bargain racks.
When I worked for B&D many years ago the object was to reduce any quality in the product in the search for a reduction in production costs. Longevity was not considered. I believe the name is now owned by Stanley tools. So no doubt made in the far east and sold under the B&D name.
And me, although it packed up after 40 ish years, cost £40, the first electronic reverse switched one.I have a black and decker corded drill that I use daily and must be 40 years old. I imagine these ones won't last quite as long

That’s not quite correct
B&D own Stanley tools and Dewalt, no one thinks of B&D as quality tools, due to them cheapening the quality in the past, so they generally no longer use it except in the cheapest of bargain basement tools,
They have generally stuck to Stanley and dewalt for battery tools they are generally all made in China though
It’s still going though
