New boiler install - question for the experts

Hi All,
I don't know if I'm being picky, but I though I'd ask.
Having a new boiler installed, so it's not completely finished but directly above it, where the pipes go into the roof (it's a bungalow) there is exposed rafter - shouldn't there be a fire break?

Installer coming back tomorrow for finishing/commissioning - just wanted to know if the holes should be blocked off

Common sense would dictate that they should, but @Kayos would be your man.

If they have chopped holes like that then they should be filled, there is no need for specific fire stopping beyond skimmed plasterboard

If they intended leaving them like that it's bad workmanship but they may not be finished.

It may be a trick of the photography, but the top of the magnetic filter looks very close to the ceiling. It needs its own height above it so you can remove it for cleaning once in a blue moon.

The holes top left of your photo are I guess where the old pipes went. Explain to your installer that you want the finished product to look the same.

Those filters are nice and easy to isolate then remove from the bracket

The filter top comes off easily thanks - he already showed me
