Was wondering if it was alright to add another fan to a gasless mig welder just by tying into the power leads for the original fan,would it make the arc less stable by doing this?

Another fan or a better fan should be fine.

so it would be alright to run 2 fans off of 1 lead

Yes, they don't draw enough current to melt the wiring... I had twin fans on my SIP 90A running from a bit of old 1mm two-core.
