That little thing looks concourse and belongs in the living room...buy a cheaper one for the back lanes

I spend more time in the van than the living room, so I'll call it good. I can't see the point of buying a cheaper one, as it would defeat the pleasure of riding this one; also, I appreciate that the bike was obviously restored as a labour of love, and I will continue to show it the care and respect that the former owner did.

Soft option is good at my age, my hardtail Sportster was the bone shaker, lol. This Bantam will be my first BSA. Back in the late 1970's a buddy built a gorgeous rigid chopper with a 650 BSA engine that gave him many headaches. He often claimed BSA stood for " Bazturd Stopped Again ".

Well it's "prime deal day" on Amazon....just had a look....the Black & Decker heat gun is now £24.99 (I paid £17)...quite a few of my past orders have had a few quid added too.

Bit of a joke me thinks....price history shows lowest as £13 and highest as £26...thats quite a variation.

Today I acquired a little gem. Got to thank @awemawson who posted a photo of an old Bantam on the "When I were a Lad" thread. It caught my attention and fired up my interest to get another bike again.
Took the bike for a shakedown run, and noticed it doesn't quite have the horsepower range of my old Harley , but then I'm not planning any long haul rides. I think it will be just fine for those leisurely trips down our back country roads. The front wheel rack worked out ok too.

Firm I worked for banned drivers fitting their own CB, we found it was cheaper for us to pay our service garage to do it than pay to rectify the electrical faults caused by driver installed ones

Never understood how drivers can make a mess of what is a relatively simple job , and the Cumbrian lot were no exception .

Scania, bless 'em, have cubby holes above the windscreen which are perfect for fitting cb's, and there's even a DIN fitting that's made for it, but one of the muppets who drove my old motor prior to me had taken the cubby hole out and drilled a hole in the bottom of it which he then enlarged with pliers and a Stanley knife so he could get the pl259 aerial connector through it . The whole debacle was finished off by him shoving it back in with cardboard and a couple of dusters jammed around the cb and some gaffer tape over the top to hold it all in...

Thanks, it's nicer than I expected. Early days yet, however it has crossed my mind about removing the plate; does look kind of cool though.
Regarding the slicer, there's a saying in California: If you don't like the way I drive, then stay off the sidewalk.

Last month I acquired... a speeding ticket, and another for driving outside of my hours, which I got compliance on if I took my full test.

Well, I took my test this morning and passed. Twenty minutes of driving and he said it’s a clear pass, I didn’t need to see any more. Fab! Proper happy

love my kelly kettle (although that is a far newer one than mine as it has the bigger top hole). mine also had a cork top, which we all remove and replace with a peice of wood to use as a pouring assistance and to stop it becoming a projectile

There was a programme on TV showing those being made a quite a while back, Made in Britain, the Ghillie kettle or something like that. From what I remember the body was spun in one piece.

A new second hand pc to run lightburn and do my laser cutting stuff. It was about £120 as came with out a HD (added a ssd instead) it's lovely and simple and has a wonderful touchscreen

Fireboard (pink) is the way to go...tough as old boots...doesn't move around once plastered.

It's more money but it's worth it...even takes wall plugs well unlike the standard stuff which just cracks and falls apart of you sneeze on it!
