@MoreWellie I think I'm going to go for a 4Kva
Sounds like yours needed a service and adjusting back to 50Hz, I've used similar and it powered TVs etc no problemsI had a honda based 2.2kva generator and it was never that great, it would just about run a 1.5HP 24l compressor but was never happy with it starting. It also used a lot of petrol when running at high loads
I also tried to use it at home for telly/lights during powercuts and the output wasn't near enough to a sinewave/230v for telly/PCs to be happy despite having an avc
The trade off is the weight of 4 or 5 kva generators, I was just about ok moving the 2.2 by myself (old school pre inverter type) but I am not lifting a bigger old school one without help
, I used to wipe the dirt off occasionally does that count?a service
It would if it corrected the frequencywhat's , I used to wipe the dirt off occasionally does that count?
The Generator is for using a table saw or a mitre saw. Alot of my tools are cordless. I can't justify a cordless table saw or mitre saw. A generator will bridge this gap for me without massive expenseThink some of the replies here are missing a trick. As it's off grid, the power requirement might be different.
I.e. you might be better off sizing your battery bank/inverter to power your most thirsty tool and getting the tiniest genny you can get away with to trickle into the batteries between bursts of usage or at times of low sunshine.
