ect 3000 power probe , to test for open circuits etc

Hi.
anyone hands on experiance with these , is the ect 3000 a good tool or are there better options ? thanks in advance , its to test for possible open circuit on the loom of my L200 (urghh!_)

I've got this version of a power probe & it is very useful for automotive fault tracing.

The probe bit unscrews to reveal a standard 4mm banana socket so you can attach any standard test lead. I would suggest you get a set of leads with a piercing hook for tracing breaks in the loom. Something like these.

I have the power probe kit , great tool but it’s not the best tool for finding open circuits IMHO .
I do have a Snan on piece of kit that is made for the job that has various adaptors to fit electrical connections then sends a signal down the wire you are testing then using a receiver along the wire the break/short can be

.

Now I have retired it’s no longer needed so could be for sale,
