Looking on the 3D printing forum reading some information about updates via a link I noticed that Fusion will now allow you do wrap around a cylinder printing so you could run up a slide over band with such details ... It might last a lot longer than the dymotape . Certainly a thing I'm going to explore when I make the time as we have a fair few identical trigger spray packs that don't let you stick a label on as the plastic is so greasy.

I made a mess of the stainless exhaust.
Plastic bag blowing around the garage managed to wrap itself round the main pipe after it had just been for a run and been heated up. Plastic had a burning plastic stench for a while.
Then it was time to break out the scraper and heat gun once the exhaust cooled down enough to touch.
Right PITA to get off this stuff but with patience and a mug or two of tea i scraped off most that can be seen in the picture and another path.
All cleaned up with a few tiny spots that hopefully can sort themselves out
Looking at the photos now not sure if the rear diff is leaking seem to have a wet spot around that bolt and copper washer
. Will have to have a look at that next

Yesterday we reduced a tree to logs and wood chip
And today i was given a new project to straiten my winch after it was ran over.
One of them days, chipper blade bolt wouldn't play first thing, no spares on hand chainsaws kept playing up aswell. Ho hum

Update on the bowl, bottom came out lovely. Top and sides not as good. Turns out, when using a slow curing resin and brass powder, the brass powder will of course settle to the bottom 
Had to do it in 2 pours because of leakage. anyway, made some mess today taking more out the bottom and then sanding, it drank quite a lot of danish oil after that.

Not that small but not that big. The drawing and the cut files were from a marine engineer / approved drawings guy, as this thing will be for the local port authority, it has to comply to all regulations. It will be used as a tender for towing oil spill booms around the harbour if and when we get spills.
The material is specific marine alli 5083, as far as I know all alli boats are constructed from 5083, well that is all I use. The construction method is firstly assemble the frames (longitudinals along with the tranverse or bulkheads) which fit by interlocking together like egg crates. Then it is just square up and start tacking, keeping an eye so it doesen't get out of shape. Then just attach the skins over the frame. It is just a little more involved than that, but that is it in a nut shell. I will post more pics as I go, but not much has changed today, welding 'stuff' together so we can turn the boat back upright. Starboard side chine completed, both planing strakes and almost finished the keep extrusion / protection. Then tomorrow will attach the doublers to the front bow section (in case they hit something hard) and flip it over. That is when the major part of the welding will begin

ha...love it..i often wonder how people manage with DIY and building projects without a full suite of engineering tools.......im the same, often find myself using the mill,lathe welder etc if im doing "building or diy" type work

Got this small vice, only because I was told it was "Cute."
Odd little design
In Bits the grease and oil is nasty stuff, not much shifted it.
So we went old fashioned.
Boiling the oil and grease of it.
It removed most and showed the 3 paint schemes.
Red.
Green.
Black.
Wire brushed and wiped down with solvent cleaning cloth.
But what do you do with a cute little vice.
Paint was not going to be used.
Ok, I was on a lot of coffee.
The rattling of cans sounded to very loud at that time of the morning.
Well half the night and most of the day.
But hay ho.
Got this small vice, only because I was told it was "Cute."

Got a suitable hose for this the other day. From a good human. It was attached to a plastic pressure weed killer bottle.
The lockable valve was full of something. It burnt better than is smelled.
This is to be used for delivery of different fluids in a Green house.
This Seaman's clasp knife was untidy. Not in bad condition. Just dirt and concentrated patches of rust.
Wire wool and metal polish brought it up a treat.
I used to have one, great for old style "Ratt Packs." But the new ones are all boil in the bag.
The end of the Pongo "Racing Spoon."
The Felt tool was a curio to me, but it is well made.
Cleaned up with Brass restoring fluid and wire wool.
Watching the bats in the dawn light. I think the Tilly lamp attracted some night time bugs.
