Looks like it is only available in North America. Probably has some chemical in it that is disliked in the EU.

hello you lot thanks for all the responses...pretty much as I thought sadly. I got all excited when I found it on Ebay in US saying it could be sent to UK but despite letting me say 'buy it' and 'check out now' I was then told 'This can't be sent'
Yes I'm still alive and kicking! My latest project is Marvin...(named in honour of my husbands cousin, a keen and talented vintage vehicle restorer who sadly died the day the Fordson was delivered)

There is a glimmer of hope.....I rang Duncan who has the European sales rights for Gibbs (they have an FB page as well as a website...saying Gibbs not currently available...as it has for rather a long time!). I last spoke to him around the whole Brexit debacle time and he said he'd been given the rights to formulate Gibbs in the UK but Brexhit had massively delayed it because of all the uncertainty, then of course we hit Covidgate. He said he remembered talking to me and I was on the list (of many!) who would be informed when it would be available for sale here in UK - apparently the Great Day is in sight. They've already formulated a batch and are waiting for the go-ahead to go into production.
I looked at the Amnbersil machine oil but there was nothing to say it was over-paintable (although would be a very useful oil around food processing equipment) so I'm hanging out for Gibbs (I still have a little left).

@malcolm - tell them why Gibbs is so special as you were the one who first introduced it and did all those tests
It was useful to me for protecting a bare metal bodyshell inside for a few months. It did that very well. It will have got into the seams but that didn't seem to cause an issue with paint. I use it on the welding bench every year or two.
Other than that I've only used it as a lubricant for rusty bolts. It probably works as well as anything else. It's good for locks and things inside as it smells better than WD40 and doesn't leave the oily residue.
Would be good if we can get it in the UK again.

It's the over-paintable factor that makes it so different from things like WD40. You can spray new steel to stop it from rusting and it won't affect it being painted at a later date. I think it stays working for longer than WD too. I sprayed into a padlock that was really hard to open due to rust and it's STILL in GWO several years later.
