lightweight - spark resistant jacket

I am trying to find a jacket that matches the following criteria:


Lightweight - around 1kg would be good, for reference a hip length leather jacket is normally around 1.2kg

Spark Resistant - for the welder and the grinder


Thats it, those are the only criteria.

Suggestions please? What are you guys wearing?

ive got pair of old fire retardent overalls i cut off at crotch height to make a nice long 'workshop jacket'.... we replace all ours as a matter of course when theyre two years old, but seeing as my day job is mostly desk based these days mine tend to still be 'usable' and havent been washed as often as the workshop guys ones they still seem pretty good......

I have been recommended the german air force overalls from surplus type places.

Made of the fancy Nomex material so I am told they are quite good.

Also looks to be good quality GoreTex jackets on there.

Might get some odd looks however
