What is this adjustment for on pyramid rolls

just bought a set of pyramid rolls

2 screw threads each end of the top roller for adjusting the height as i was expecting

Also a third adjustment ive attached a few pictures of

Only thing i can think of is lifting the end of the roller to allow a full circle to be slid off the end?

To support the top roll so that the end frame can be dropped when removing a full cylinder, so as you guessed,
Dont forget to back it right off when using the roll, or you will damage the roller spigot.

it looks like someone was lazy and didnt back it off properly as you can see some wear already on the top roller

as it apears a wear line all the way around the bar already

Yes probably wore 8mm down into the bar if its meant to not be wore atall!

I thought it was made that way as it looks like its meant to be thats what was confusing me a bit i was thinking it was for applying pressure during use for cones or something but didnt really make sense
