On my first ever jump with a square parachute the plane had to go round again as a Trident flew under us . Another occasion just as a group of us opened I saw the Red Arrows coming directly towards us, fortunately they were on the ball . Several times saw A 10 Tankbusters after opening .

Pal of mine, Brian, was the captain on that BMA flight into Teesside when the cargo door dropped off into Vicarage Street in Stockton. Funnily enough it landed about 100yards from me, I think he was taking aim to be honest.
He said he saw a load of reporters heading his way (they had been interviewing someone famous landing in another aircraft) and he wondered who they had on board. He was a bit surprised when he discovered it was himself they wanted a word with. I was told the routine that "some airlines" had in the cabin if they heard anything unusual, in order to NOT have it on the voice recorder!

Took the mick out of him for some time after that.

It looks supercool, but can't glide or autorotate if there is a technical issue..you would be safer in a Flying Flea!

If anyone wants to go flying in a cheap and satisfying way, just go to your local gliding club. No theory, cheap, and you will be hands-on the stick, even on you fiirst time up.

There’s a gliding club just down the road from me, some days there will be 3 or 4 in the air over our village. They also to circle our village as they are towed up to height.

Some clown was doing loops directly overhead in a small plane last week, which I thought was illegal, according to the air federation, acrobatics over built up areas etc.

I just checked your page out, pretty interesting stuff, I do love an old wooden boat. Back in 1991 I was a penniless backpacker in Thailand, so I took the bus to Singapore and found a job in a sailing boat yard. Never set foot on a yacht before, but I soon got into the groove, fixing drive trains, rigging, wiring, plumbing etc.
