Not bloody likely! - and certainly not tonight. I was up in Annan with some mates on the bikes last night... had a few Guinness followed by a trip to an Indian. Garlic chilli chicken, that'll do nicely, then back to the bar for some cougar-watching and another pint or two
I woke up about 0400 with a bit of gurgling in the innards but went back to sleep.
Down for breakfast at nine, 3 egg omelette and a coffee then back to my room to offload, or so I thought. Nothing. So off to the bikes, set off and within half a mile my guts turned to water. Just to say made it to the nearest hypermarket bog which was probably quarantined by Environmental Health afterwards. Set off again and by the time the sign for Gretna services appeared, the bell was sounding for round two.
And so it went on for the rest of the day, so to anyone who followed me into the gents at any of these locations, my humble apologies and earnest wishes for your nasal recovery... I made a crystal radio set as a kid, the longer the antenna the better the reception so I ended up with about 70 or 80ft of wire running from my bedroom down to the bottom of the garden, I remember thinking it was amazing that it worked without needing a battery,

I had a tuned Honda CR250 engine in a Cagiva Mito chassis that I used to race and that thing threw me over the bars once a Mallory Park when trying to start it! And it didn't even have a kick start!

Really, one of the girls at collage had a SP370 in the mid 80's, slip of a lass could not have been more than nine stone of her she never seemed to have any trouble starting it. I always fancied a go on it but never got round to asking.

More reminiscing:
'Racing' Dinky and Corgi toys on the school's tarmac playground. The technique was to flick the car into motion using the thumb and forefinger and see how far it travelled. Trouble was if you misfired, a good scraping of skin came off.
Playing calvary and indians in the local woods - the requisites for calvary were a cap-gun and holster, a blue jumper and Mum's best yellow duster.
The Shadow's version of Apache - what did the parents buy me? The Bert Weedon version. Perhaps that was revenge for nicking Mum's dusters.
Finding a huge pile of Parade magazines in the watchman's hut in the local municipal tip. Then came the tricky bit of finding a foolproof place to hide the chosen few in my bedroom .

A local skip firm had a contract with the Police in the 70s to get rid of porn mags that had been confiscated.
It'll ended up in an open shed, close to where I lived. Tons and ton of European mags, even in the late 80s you couldn’t buy a mag with full on shots. Talk about wild life never seen so many beavers.

I had my dads old set, in a nice wooden box, just re-wired with hand wound coil from instructions from 1980 cub scout annual as it was missing most of its original internals - I had to reconnect it to the other end of the aerial down in the garden so take it about to show the lass and her "electrical engineer" dad next door that it did indeed run without batteries, picking up R2, Luxembourg and even Moscow on a good night.

I still have it - sat in the cabinet under the tv. Used a set of headphones from a Wellington bomber - so my dad told me as a kid. they were missing the cushioned bits, so the bakolite was jammed hard against your head - it hurt after a while. The rubber coating on the headband has disintegrate in the 40 yrs since

When I was an apprentice sixty years ago, part of my training was a period spent at the riverside workshop, Where the iron ore boats came in, Real old fashioned place with a glowing "pot belly" stove, The whole workshop walls were covered in very explicit naked ladies,In every position imaginable, all brought in by the foreign ore boats, Completely different from the home grown variety with the naughty bits air brushed away!!!
