Non isocyanate 2k clear over celly paint

Been trying to find info regarding non iso 2k clear and cellulose paint but struggling to find much....
Has anyone ever tried using the non iso 2k clear over a celly top coat?

If so did it work without causing any reactions? any special steps needed in prepping before applying the clear

Fiberglass motorcycle fairings painted in celly about 4 months ago with no clear coat have got some minor scratches and marks which i first want to tidy up/make good with more cellulose paint, apply some decals, then give the whole lot a clear coat to acheive a more durable finish.

I dont have the ppe equipment to use full fat 2k clear so was looking at the iso free version as an alternative to provide a good protective coat.
Could use 1k but its not supposed to be as durable/prone to shrinkage etc

1k is utterly crap compared with 2k, its dull, it shrinks, it cracks and it comes off if you look at it wrong.

which is why i wanted to try the non iso 2k clear.

I know regular 2k can go over cellulose but im not sure about the compatibility of the non iso stuff

2K Acrylic paint is one of the most versatile and durable automotive paints available it is petrol and oil resistant when fully cured and can be applied over most pre painted surfaces without the need for a sealer. From what Ive read, non iso 2k is rubbish and should be avoided, many reviews say it stays soft.
If you dont have the PPE the alternative is to brush or roller paint proper 2k, so that you wont create any aerosol vapour, then can be done safely with a normal respirator. I have not tried it yet but will be soon. There are a few posts on here showing it can give good results

If you try and brush or roller 2k clear over an existing non-2k paint you will end up with a mess. It's not got a lot of thinners in but will still soften paint.
Non-iso 2k clear has none of the protection or durability of proper 2k clear. In your application I would use U-pol S2085 1k smart clear.

you need a way to get it done in 2k...that way its durable and petrol resistant

black white and blue celly. It would be okay to use 2k clear gloss but as mentioned i dont have the required air fed mask/extraction set up hence was looking for an alternative

I have used cellulose lacquer before and wouln't again as after time it crazes on bigger areas. No details on that lacquer from Express Paints so I wouldn't risk it. The S2085 is the best 1k clear out there but I'm not sure if it's petrol resistant. To be honest unless it's 2k petrol will always affect it to some degree.

You could foam roller it and then polish once dry, just another option to do it safely without spraying.

Think ill try this.
For the panels that were already painted (months ago) and dont need any touch up work, will i likely suffer with adhesion problems when trying to spray the clear coat on to these?

If you abrade the existing paint work with something fine, like a grey scotch brite or 800 wet and dry, your clear will stick to the top coat as well as if you spray it, possibly even better.

I brushed some 2k clear and gloss a few months ago, when the same question was asked.
It was brushed directly onto some electro galv sheet and it's been outside since.
It still looks fine.

This was one quick coat over very rough prep. Standard mix of hardiner and no thinner.
If you put a couple of coats on, let it dry between coats and flat it back I think it will work quite well over existing paint, but try it out to make sure there is no reaction first.

S2085 like any other 1k clear has high thinners content so will bite into existing 1k finishes, but I would still key it up with a grey scotch pad.
