the only liquid, if drunk in vast quantity's that can get the grinding dust and lo-hy smoke taste out of your mouth!

Arsonista, sloes might be tart as hell raw, but in gin... gorgeous. Don't forget the sugar though, or your tongue will dry out like the sahara desert and drop off.

Tastes better if you use caster rather than granular in my opinion, have seen recipes using 1/2 lb of granular to a lb of sloe if using caster use only 4oz to a lb. Have also put in a couple of drops of almond essence before a few weeks in to brewing gives it another dimension.

Bottled the sloe Gin tonight well worth the two month wait. Started making the truffles but they are setting in the fridge will finish making them tomorrow. Yum! The liquid in the decanter is what I could not get back into the bottles and has a little sediment in it but who cares.Slainte Mhath!

Sloe Gin Love the stuff. Been picking berries at the weekend, like footballs on some bushes this year, and the first time I've ever been able to eat one.
