is there any simcas still running over there that haven't fell to bits my x boss got one when I 1st past my test it was difficult to find the gears as u could wind the stick around

Stragely enough, saw one yesterday driving past, made me smile as one of my old teachers at school had one, and we're talking late 70s then...
not this one, just a photo lifted off google, but same model

Nice job I am always amased at what repair panels you can get for old vehicles I am working on an old VW25 at the moment for someone with loads of rust, Its going to keep me busy for a week or two.

When I was a teenager the farmer my dad worked for's son had a 4x4 Renault 4 van, I think they were pretty unusual then so I doubt there are many around now.

entirely possible, plenty still running down here so a fair bit of choice. The paperwork for importing to the UK might take a wee bit of working out now with the uk being out of Europe, but should still be easy enough. I haven't done it from here to the UK, done a few the other way which wasn't to bad, first one was a right royal ballache, but once you know the system its easy (or it was). . Left hookers obviously, but if you're serious, pm me (not to disturb malcolms thread) and we'll see what we can do.

That's a Citroen They are not so common nowadays either. I had a yellow Renault 5 old P reg with the flor gear lever and a towbar for the camping trailer and it was a fun motor especially when you lifted the inside wheel on roundabouts

An old chap my wife worked with, he lived near here in Tupton and he did a beige one of those up and got it back on the road a few years ago. According to him it was the last one on the road in UK.

could well believe that, the one I remember at school was fairly unique at that time too, late seventies and in the NE of Scotland, not that common a car round our way, probably why I remember it. Sure the teachers car park for full of maxis, allegros, and probably a few ford escorts at that time so it stood out..

Got a friend who's got a collection of these. Think he's into double digits of them now, some on the road, some not. Can't remember exactly what it was but some variant of a 4x4 one which he thought was the only one in Britain.

I probably should. Found out I get less holes when I grind the tacks down before seam welding. I'm sure I knew that once.

The under keepers on the estate I worked on as a boy had the Renault 4 vans. They were brilliant, just about go anywhere. I was out with one of the keepers and he took it over a ploughed field, it was a bit bouncy but it never got stuck.
