I'm having trouble locating some metric inches.

Today I acquired a "501A" QC toolpost. It came with 2 holders, and it seems this model is more expensive than the "202" wedge type more commonly used. I have found a local seller that seems to be on par with Aliexpress for price, so I shall get some more in due course.

I'll let you into a bigger secret. We aren't a metric country, we are an SI country using the mks subset, having switched from the cgs subset in the late 1960's.

The metric system is a whole collection of units suitable for trade, so it has cm, dm, dl, kl, hl, etc. It's not dissimilar to the imperial system in that regard. I even used to hear my French colleagues use 'pouce', but I can't recall what name they gave to 500 g - livre?

More importantly, why does my Staropramen come in 660ml bottles and my wine in 750ml ones not 1 litre ones??

Fractional inches are easy. If you tell someone a distance is 12 mm and they tell you they prefer fractional inches, just tell them it's exactly 120/254".

Having picked a day when the weather forecast was a bit uncertain but still okay and on which the beach at Lyme Regis was closed for reprofiling (deliberately chosen so it would be less crowded), yesterday we went to Lyme Regis for fish & chips and to break the four month long run of not leaving our immediate locality. Had a lovely day out and Lyme wasn't too busy so we didn't find ourselves in the chaotic scenes that have been reported in Bournemouth etc. Sadly a lot of the shops were closed, but plenty of options for fish & chips & ice cream!

En route we stopped at the Vintage Tool Shop in Stalbridge and Yandles in Martock. Got some wood to play with from Yandles and also got this lot (mostly from the Vintage Tool Shop, but the fret saw blades were from ebay and the Royal Mail):

I've got quite a lot of sharpening to do now...

Got one of these. Works well but just annoying its 6mm chuck rather than 1/4".

I have one too and it came with both chucks!

I will let you into a secret: we are a metric country in the UK. China or Japan, the origin of the tool you have, are also metric countries. If you want to buy native imperial stuff, you have to up sticks and go live in mad Bobs country bunker

Fixed that for you, when they open I wont be going a mile down the road to the pub for a pint in my car thats on 15" rims then

I have one of them, great bit of kit.

Get your self a nice long square and check the blade for true. It can be adjusted, but SIP will not tell you how. But it is clear when you look underneath.
The dust shoot can clog, but a gentle tap will free it.

Set up the angle pointers, they move, Loctite will solve that.

Did you get the stand?

This isn't SIP its "Performance Power" so B&Qs own offering I think?

No stand.

I got it sight unseen. Offered it over the phone and told it sits on a table top and the blade comes up and down like on a tile cutter. Its huge! Lucky I have the space to store it. Always wanted a table saw tbh. I have a radial arm and chop saw but this'll save me keep having to go and borrow the BiLs.

Certainly is (although a lot pricier than smaller outfits like the one in the antique market in Lyme). It's probably a good thing I don't live nearby!

I have a couple of the Performance Power tools - pretty good actually. I have a circular saw that I put a 'proper' balde on when I first bought it - absolutely reansformed it!

The saw was a classic example.
As to the power sander with no on/off switch.

It's good to vent, but try to calm yourself, you'll burst something . Have these instead

i have a bigger rexon unit that is fine just leave it running for a few seconds after a cut seams to clear the ways so no dust removel needed when ever i do cutting in my house i just do it on the garden what comes out rots away or gets picked up in the mower

the smaller unit than ours is a b&q special and that does clog up near every time im assuming its down to smaller blade not as fast and prob just a design problem in extracting the dust so unless its a quick cut you have to use a hover to remove the dust

the only reason i keep the smaller one is very light, blades are very cheap £12 for silverline jobs but i only normaly use it for cutting laminate flooring and that seams to blunt a blade for every 1 floor i lay but as the blades are cheap i just use them for the 1 job then throw them and renew i dont want to keep dressing the teeth x amout of times as its a pain

they will even at slower speeds I have a slither of bronze in my thumb that I cant remove tried digging it out with a Stanley knife and dug in deep but it wont remove . it skins over and leaves a lump and hurts I just slice the hard corn of skin off every few month

Get that seen to before it reaches the stage which Gordon mentions.
