Now I’ll try spraying from side to side with the 1:1 mix and lower my air pressure a bit. Then I’ll have a go with 120% thinner.
No. Just trying to get coverage. If I move the gun fast or slow I’m still getting more or less the same result. I’m overlapping 50% as required. Are you trying to get the basecoat to flow? If so you're putting too much on, basecoat should just go on lightly and build up the coverage with extra coats as far as I know.
Hmm? Not a massive difference so far. One I sprayed too slow and got runs. The other I moved the gun a lot faster and put on a far lighter coat. Still with lower pressure and still at 1:1. Both photos are of the basecoat as it was still wet. Temperature 18. Humidity 54%
2 coats. How many coats? For me when spraying basecoat I'd still be able to see some of the primer through the first pass.
Maybe some sparks but switching it on before I fill the room with overspray hasn’t killed me yet. The 1k is ready for use. The 2K I used on the car is recommended 10% thinner. Next time I use it I’ll ignore that and use 20% like the gunman did. I don’t know how to set up a gun for clear if I’m honest. How do you do it? Thanks. If the vacuum has a brushed motor then lots of potential sparks. Do you have to thin the clear? Spraygun setup should be different for the clear than the basecoat
I’ve got some viscosity cups on order. There’s no information about viscosity as far as I can see. Just mixing instructions on the can and a health and safety data sheet online. Technico coatings. Bit vague on their information. How do you set up your gun for clear? Wider fan than hand span? Fluid wound all the way out just before the spring pops out? My fluid on base was 2.5 turns out from closed. If mixing you really need a viscosity cup and thin it that way to manufactures recommended value especially if not spraying full time
Next time I use it I’ll ignore that and use 20% like the gunman did
