Earth leakage circuit breaker tripping

Ive put a new kitchen in and extended some of the old sockets that were hidden behind the base units to inside the units but now it trips the earth leakage circuit breaker if I plug a kettle in, the radio works fine though.

I've done 2 sockets in total, 1 of them also has a spur off the original which works fine.

I did it as per my diagram with a chocolate block connector pushed into the wall box and wired in 2.5. The wall boxes now just have blank face plates attached.
It seemed pretty straight forward but I seemed to have messed it up.

well if u haven't test gear .disconnect your extension and link the old socket ring back together and try it. then try the other . haven't drilled any cables have u

Possibly nicked a cable when screwing socket fronts/blank plates back.

Put a socket front onto the wire sticking out the wall and it worked fine. Popped the front off one of the sockets in the cupboard and it seemed I'd gotten the earth and neutral the wrong way round. Checked the other one and it was the same.
What a sausage, think I need to sack myself.

You need to come and work for my company! They pay good money for people that can't tell the difference between earth and neutral!

no he hasn't he has extended the pair of wires from original socket in to the new one and spurred off to the double socket from the original one. there isn't a link in-between on his drawing

Yeah it was a good mistake, so good I made it twice just to be sure!!.

I assumed he took it from the socket terminals not removed the socket.
