What eats a toad's head then?

Last night the mrs ran in asking me to liberate a toad from the back yard - our part time Westie was harassing it, and obviously hasn't learnt the lesson that the can squirt some awfully foul stuff.
Anyway, I picked it up and lobbed it onto the front lawn.
This morning I was walking around out there, and there it was, minus it's head and front legs!
So what's likely to have done this? We have a part time cat, which is quite useful at catching vermin, there is also a greeny black hedgehog poo out there, that was there the night before.
You think living in the country you know the nature around you - but that's obviously nonsense.
One little tidbit about toads - a few years ago I built a new hydro turbine on a 100m head main - 10bar near as damnit. We had to fit a strainer on the inlet because of a lack of one at source, and whilst cleaning this one day i had a look at the contents. Two toad skeletons, one freshly picked - it was still red, and one live, fat toad. So they not only survive 10bar, but they eat each other as well.

Our wonderful cat would happily do that to a frog though not eat it just rip at it.

Many years ago, backpacking in India, I was staying at the Jim Corbett wildlife reserve north of Delhi. One morning my travelling companion and me spied a big owl sat on the ground at the base of a tree, looking around, minding its own.

We went off and had a quick breakfast, then walked back planning to take a pic of the owl, except the poor thing was laying on the ground, minus its head.

No idea what may have chewed on it, but it was quick, and was gone by the time we came back.

Me, 30 years, and 30kg ago.....

Hedge Pig, we have one/some in the Garden. Munched its way through a load of snails last night. There’s always droppings near the dogs water bowl.

bad init..i think the most disgusting thing they eat is the egg yonka,s...this is a bird in the egg just before it hatches, they part boil the egg then eat the yonka
