That looks like Zinc plating and yellow passivate. Others on the forum and myself have done this at home with the kits available, very time consuming and can be hit or miss with the results. I would find a good platers and get them to do it but emphasise they cannot loose or drop any bits in the tanks as they are super rare.

The business next to us is a blaster, he has a mate locally that does the powder coat and chroming so the boss is going to go and see him as he might be able to help

Yes they do. No 2 son was responsible for the line that plated shell cases for a Royal Navy contract. Crown exemption and all that?

Military and contractors for have exemptions from a lot of harzardous materials regs - their job is to be a hazard!
They don't have to meet CoSSH in finished products, or use lead-free solders etc.
