LED light bar

Son has been given a used light bar for his Connect or our L200. Dad, me, got the job of trying to slacken the mounts off. No chance, the anti theft measures ruined any chance of getting them off in one piece. So they came off thanks to Mr Hacksaw and B Force! So now I’m looking for replacements. The original mounts were T shaped and slid into a T slot on the bar. They were about an inch long. I can find T bolts but would rather have mounts like the originals, any ideas where I can source them? No makers name or anything on the bar

Usually grind say a m8 bolt head down and then put a nut on it,

Looked as those before, could probably make bits to make them fit

Can you remove the covers?, there may be a makers mark inside. Some of the main UK suppliers are Code3/Premier Hazard, RSG and RVL

I have had one of the end covers off but I don’t think there was anything under it. I’ll take the other one off this morning and have a look

Orderd these, a bit of fettling and they should work. Should be straight forward. Plan is to make a rectangular nut, same width as the mount. It’ll slide in the T slot. Bolt from the mount will be cut to length. Simples !

Got the rectangular nuts shaped. Once the mounts arrive I’ll drill and tap them to take the bolts on the mount

Quick update, the adjustable brackets arrived. Should give plenty adjustment. Started tapping the nuts, got two threaded. Started the third one and broke the tap! Had the set for about thirty years, bit miffed about breaking it. Son was meant to bring one home from work but it never arrived. Got one on order, should get it this week and get the remaining nuts tapped.

All done, just needs fitting now. The new tap must of taken the scenic route here! What a joy to use a quality tap

Wheres it going on the truck?
Might not be usefull for a light bar but if you take the passenger seat out there is a wire grommet underneath, I pulled it apart and fed my coax and live for the radio through it

I think he wants it on the rails of the canopy. Anywhere else and it’ll look daft.

You might be able to use the grommet I said to get a switch wire into the cab, unless its just going onto high beam?

I think I would prefer a switch in the cab, your grommet will come in handy

14mm nuts and bolts for the seat, one plug (on mine anyway) I pulled the tape off and went through the existing conduit.

I put a 24" light bar on the mrs jeep and a 32" behind the bumper grille on my van. (Wanted it hidden)

Both got relayed off the full beam headlights and fused accordingly.
