Aye, it's definitely no fun working in it. Especially when one's a ginge. I'm fortunate in that I have acclimatised to the degree where I tan rather than just burning though, now.

In all honesty, as much as it gets a bit much sometimes when it’s ridiculously busy and you’re out in blazing sunshine walking 10 miles or more carrying bags that are extremely heavy, I still enjoy the job and have no regrets taking it on. So much better that working nights in a factory.... never had women answering the door wearing 3 parts of nothing when I was making car tyres. It’s a job to know where to look sometimes.

was once seeing a bird 2 legged type in a village she allways asked me what I wanted her to wear when I went then came to the door and opened her dressing gown showing all went in had a quick cuppa before the usual and she said god I bet the postman got a big surprise . whys that . I was out collecting Covid tests early yesterday morning, 55 mile round trip to collect just 8 kits from 5 addresses.... no time pressure so plenty of time to have a chat..... and a gawp....

So tell me chaps, what does “just right” look like?

Sunny, with white fluffy clouds. 13 degrees C, low humidity, cool 10 knot breeze. Clear nights.
Not rare, but it only ever lasts a day or two.

I have a ginger living with me, i keep a spray gun in the fridge full of watered down factor 50 suntan lotion, poor lad is already suffering from beetroot face after a walk.

To be honest we have so much miserable grey weather in this country, I refuse to moan when it's hot. In fact I positively welcome it. As a fair weather bike rider these days, it gives me just the excuse to go for a blat...

Indeed I can. I remember one month where it never got above freezing. And in the middle of that I had to climb onto a computer room roof and reset the chillers(!) that had tripped out. (although that may have been the late 70s on thinking about it)

I don't like the heat, been watering my lawn every day to keep it going, re seeded it last year, was lovely but now it's yellow. Got 80 slabs of my patio left to lay, it's to hot and the cement drying to fast, the area I'm going becomes shaded around 3pm so been working from then till evening

that's why black dustbin bags are thin . they will hardly carry any weight. there were more dustbin men on the sick swinging the lead with bad backs than were working no excuse now and most have wheeliebins so no lifting at all

I'm loving it, we're BBQing more often than not, swimming in a pond in a local park, cold beers and iced coffee, life's good here.

Only downside is I'm supposed to be indoors revising for exams in a couple of days.
