We were out on the motorbike, (a bmw r1100rs) refuelling a few days back.

Pointing to a Ducati 1108 and desmosedici.

Only two of most bonkers and lusted after sportsbikes ever built.

Everybody knows that Harleys are the fastest bikes, due entirely to their size and the noise, both equal indicators of speed.

My wife puts up with my inane, ranting drivel about motorbikes, welding, cars and some of it actually sinks in. She probably couldn't tell you that Two Brothers is a brand of exhaust can and not a type of pasta sauce, but she knows not to let me buy a Hayabusa, that a Monster is a hot naked italian and that Harleys are, in fact, as a slow as a wet week.

Funnily enough, she won't get on the back of a sport bike, but the moment I bought a cruiser (Suzuki M50 / VZ800) she bought a helmet and leather jacket. Every time one of her girl friends comes round, she insists I take them for a spin on the bike - can't complain...

Now I have three kids, sport bikes don't have the appeal they once did. It would just be wasted on me. My M50 did come in handy for my son's 5th birthday though. We'd booked a vintage fire engine to take them for joy rides, but they could only take six kids at a time, so I took the rest (1 kid at a time) for a burn around the block on my bike. I think they'll remember that longer than the fire engine. My neighbours may have got a little tired after the 16th child's ride, as my bike has Vance & Hines pipes and is a little deafening.

If I did get a 'Busa, I'd whip the engine into my wife's Clubman Estate, mid mounted on a Z-Cars subframe and live in opposite lock land forever...

it is a bit c20 but £10 on ebay gets you a FM Modulator - MP3 input. Fitted one to mine for trip round France a couple of weeks ago. MP3 output from the phone, remote control thing on the wire and sorted.
