Part 2.
Challenge 3.
Fix something.
Lots to fix, but that meant new items or getting new to me.
But due to an accident, one of my Paraffin lamps took a tumble.
Made a dent and was no longer able to hold paraffin.

Not a happy TYA. The only thing that did not make me throw my toys out was the glass did not break.

Dress out as far I could go, the metal had stretched. It is tin plated steel soldered onto a copper base for the tank.
We compromised on the power tools. So I didn't have to light a fire and heat a copper iron up. I was allowed to use a modern gas torch.

Fuel tight and working.
Final challenge.
Restore something.

This is an item I am in discussion with the crappy tool shop. As you can see they are ropy. @Parm is, with luck looking into new lenses.
A good excuse for him to get out of the house.
The tin.
Gently tickling with hammers, off cuts of wood, dollies and a wooden spoon.

The lid closes now, the sides are as straight as I can get them. Again the metal has stretched.
Painted.

The tin was cleaned up with wet and dry, wire wool. The rattle can primmer, filler primer and top. All from other jobs and what was left over.

The lower set are the ones from the original kit, but with "borrowed green lenses" from a modern set. But the modern set had lense what did fit. But 1 peace, not the original 3 peace. 2 glass lenses and a thin green filter.
But the modern ones fitted into the old set.
But the old di not fit the newer versions.
So, I cut new lenses from a peace of old clock face glass.
Tool get 2 goods ones took 5 attempts.
I think the glass cutter is a bit dull. But lubrication with paraffin certainly helped a lot.
