As part of my Cummins conversion I need to drop the power steering pump pressure from 140 bar to 60. There is someone doing this by fitting a new valve but at 150 quid I’d like to have a go myself first.
This is the pressure valve as removed. The piston has an internal spring, with a shimmed cap screw but not much else inside, this is then in turn pressed down into the unit by the bigger spring and the other cap screw. I’ve done some googling by my Google fu has failed me in a search for a supplier of the fabled 60bar valves. Any ideas? I know there’s always the option of going to an external PRV in the circuit but I’d sooner do the internal valve as it’s there
