I think I may have been watching too many American car programmes on the Quest channel.

To be fair looking at the photo a bit more. It has a t5 dashboard, with a t6 facelift, doka mirrors and the exhaust shows it's a few years old so guess it's a t5 prefacelift circa prior to 2009.
Had some money spent at it also as those look like 18 or 19" smoothly steels also.
(Yes they look slick but its more just the angle of the photo)
Most of the Transits you see running about are as low as that VW but for a different reason

Some years ago I had need of some portable weighing pads; parent company fleet manager got to hear of this and asked if I’d weigh one of his new Transit caged tippers. Most of the Transits you see running about are as low as that VW but for a different reason

Don't get the point personally, O'yeah it's a transporter van again theirs my problem!
I dont get the VW fascination either, people love the Van's and having run one for several years I can sum them up in 1 word. Overrated
I hate slammed everything... just looks like its brokeI hate slammed type 2s , the ride and the handling are ruined amongst other things

PICS.luv my T4..5 seater from Holland.....1999, 1.9TD......few niggles yeah but get rid..... never...
High top gear conversion, Leather, electric swivel bucket seats....other than that completely Standard and original paint.....
SAD I KNOW......hahaha....
Old vw lt vans 2.5 tdi were a lot better than the Sprinter vans 2.2 cdi and the Crafter 2.5 tdi continued on the list of improvements. I however think the 2.7 cdi 5 cylinder engine was a really good engine and also the 2.8 banger 150 bhp was rather good too...rust killed them all regardless! I had a VW lt 109 bhp which replaced a 88bhp one and it was a massive improvement with a modern Vnt turbo and good ride...rwd was a bit dodgy on wet Road and ice but totally predictable with snow tyres. What worse than a VW T4 van?
A T5 or a T6.
My workshop has been full of them sometimes - I have seen things go wrong with a T5 van - that I have never seen fail on any other vehicle.
Why anybody would have one for a hobby - God knows?
I am not anti VAG vehicles either - I think a 2.0 diesel Skoda Superb with a CFFB engine in it - is one of the best vehicles on the road today.
I have had a string of VW Crafter vans and they have been better than the Merc Sprinters I used to have.
@frank horton The thing is I bet yours is a brilliant van!
According to the current price list your looking at around 40K for one of the latest Transporters
