Can anyone tell me what this is ?

i found this in the workshop and painted it when i were a kid , been used as a door stop for 45 years

On the ICE it says " internal combustion england "

In the small black box " copper hardened "

" The Former Unregisterable Brand "

"Has Been Abandoned To Imitators "

Whats does it comprise of and what was the application ? Any ideas ?

My guess would be as a demonstration or promotional item.

Edit: it's an ingot! Bearing material, probably similar to babbitt

I thought it was Lead , i painted it !
What is lining metal ?

White metal for casting bearings.

I think the lining metal is a clue. Something like Babbitt for bearings. Alternatively, something to do with the type (printing) industry.

White Metal Ingot. For bearing surfaces.

You put them in the melting pot, all the paint etc. rises to the top as dross. You remove it then dip the bearing in.

They did something similar on The Massy Saw, in Salvage Squad.
