How to Tell the Difference Between the Branches of the UK Armed Forces!
If you give the command "SECURE THE BUILDING", here is what the different services would do:
The NAVY would turn out the lights and lock the doors.
The Pongo's would surround the building with defensive fortifications, tanks and concertina wire.
The Boot Necks would assault the building, using overlapping fields of fire from all appropriate points on the perimeter.
The Crabs would take out a three-year lease with an option to buy the building.

Perhaps he just hast had enough training.....in the art of an eye through the cleat then back over the top, next one from underneath, etc so you can remove as required when you depart, obviously depending how you want to depart, the order you remove them.

If you look at some off the boats moored in our boat yard they are even worse, ad they are the boat owners! have to explain how to tie up, and even then they still manage to use a twenty foot rope on a 5ft gap, they get upset when the river rises which it does and you have to cut the rope because the pressure from the boat against the rope means you cannot untie it

Just found this top-down pics of my previous boat. I really miss it sometimes, Open 50, made of aluminium, weighed less than my socks.
2T of water ballast, those carbon spinnaker poles are 6m long - definitely lots of string and lots of knots.
