Hi guys, I’m needing a few words of wisdom! First post so be gentle
From what I’ve read on the forum so far, there seems like a shed load of good advice given here which is great to see
I have decided to start doing some welding. Mostly hobby stuff but the machine will be bought by my business (I’m a sparky) so that will help with the vat etc. Initially, it’ll probably be vehicle repairs on the van etc but I may end up doing frames for mounting switchgear on and who knows what else!
I suppose I’m looking for the greatest versatility I can get from a machine within the budget I’m allowing.
I’ve short listed a few but would love to hear any alternatives folk might have that I’m unaware of.
I started off with a Lincoln MIG in mind, purely as a pal used one at his work and I thought it did a reasonable job. I’m a bit brand driven I’m afraid That got me looking at a Bester 190C. I did wonder what the story with the ‘Bester’ element of the machine was about but assumed it was a cheaper derivative of the better quality Lincoln gear. I went off the boil a bit with that after going through who knows how many threads!
Anyway, the machines on the (very) short list are :
GYS Multi Pearl 200-2
Kemppi Minarcmig 200 Evo
And lastly although it would be spending a little more than I would like...
ESAB rebel EMP215i
Any and all thoughts appreciated and as I said, any alternatives too!
Cheers guys
